I don't want to post much about out trip yet, because I'm waiting on pictures from all our random cameras, and waiting on my computer to get up and running. I finally have it here in Pima, but somehow its monitor went into the storage unit with the majority of our stuff... So much has happened since I last posted, but I'll just skip most of it for now, and say that the kids and I are settled here in the Gila Valley, and Jeremy is already back in Virginia. A little bittersweet for me - I am happy to be here with family and to be "home" again, but I miss Chesapeake, especially when Jeremy is still there and we're not. It's also never easy to go from being in our own home to imposing all our craziness on someone else, even when they say they're happy to have us and that it doesn't bother them. This is like the 5th time we've lived with my parents for some period of time (anywhere from 4 weeks to 4 months at a stretch) and I appreciate their love and patience (an even excitement for it on my mom's part) as we continue to return. Hopefully this will be the last time. ;-) The kids are absolutely thrilled to be here around their Grandmas and Grandpas and cousins, and are also loving being able to go outside and play all the time by themselves.
It seems a little crazy (since school just finished up halfway through June in Chesapeake) but Reilly and Jaina both start school on Wednesday. Reilly will be in kindergarten and Jaina will be going to a pre-school 6 hours a week. They're both pretty excited. Fairly strange for me though. Until Reilly started a pre-K express program about 6 weeks ago, they've always all been at home with me all the time. I hope and pray it goes well for all of us. It seems like the right thing right now. I don't even know that we'll be here for the entire semester, but hopefully they will enjoy their time here and that school will be a good experience for both of them. Katy already asked where her school was today, and might be unimpressed when they both take off and she's left here with Grandma and me. She thinks she's 4 or 5 too, you know. Well, I'd better get to bed. With the (albeit slow) transition from Eastern time, I find myself always going to bed a little too late (after 10) and still either being woken up or waking up on my own between 5 and 6. I don't think I've had 8 hours of sleep in like a week and a half, and my body is unimpressed.

I'm glad you arrived safely. Best wishes til you can be together again. And good luck with the school... that'll be a major transition!! Only one kid? Whatever will you do? :)
So happy to hear you arrived safely and are getting settled! I thought about you a lot last week. Family is wonderful and I'm sure it is a blessing for both you and them that you are able to live there for awhile :)
We're going to have two kids in school this year too. It's strange thinking about having a little time to myself. Ha ha.
