Brrr....

So I'm really glad that we have the news and the internet and stuff, otherwise we would have been totally thrown by the weather today. It's been like in the 30's and 40's the last few days, and today the high was about 2 degrees! It was so cold, and of course we had church so we took the kids out in it. Right now, (at 8 pm) it's -7 and feels like -21! Thankfully it's supposed to "warm up" a little by Tuesday and Wednesday.






Jeremy and I got to go on a date this weekend, and it was really cool. We traded babysitting with a couple we know from his trimester. We went out for about an hour and a half Friday night, and they did the same Saturday night. It was fun. It made us excited to go home for a few weeks and get to spend a little time together without Reilly and Jaina. We love them to death, but it's nice to just be together too. Reilly did pretty well at church today; he is learning to fold his arms when asked, though keeping them folded is another story. Jaina is getting big and has started smiling a lot.

Jaina is getting big and just discovered her voice.  She now know how to make more sounds than just crying.

Snow, Snow, and MORE Snow

So between 3 p.m. yesterday and like 5 tonight we got a total of 8.8 inches of snow. It just started snowing and didn't stop. We went for a drive and after a while we stopped at a stop light and every bit of snow from the roof slid down over the windshield. I had to put the car in park, turn on the hazards, and get out and clean it all off because it was too heavy for the wipers. Luckily we were in the turn lane and no one wanted to turn that way. We actually had to stop again in the KFC parking lot to dig out the wipers and get them to work again, we thought we had permanently killed them. It was a fun drive since Reilly and Jaina both slept the whole trip and I got to eat McDonalds on the way home(6 piece McNuggets and fries, it would have be better if they served Dr. Pepper...but oh well).

Yay

So I finally got some sleep last night. Miss Jaina Marie slept two 4-hour stretches. Who cares if there was an hour and a half in between them? I was so excited, especially since the night before was two 2 1/2 hour stretches with 4 hours between them... Since she still has a stuffy nose from her cold we tried letting her sleep in her car seat, and she did so much better. I'm not planning on it happening again tonight, but I sure am hoping... Sleep is so NOT over-rated. Jeremy's spending the evening at a pub, and I'm getting Jaina and I ready for bed. Okay, so he's at a pub because there's a NUCCA doc paying for dinner and holding a q&a there for some chiropractic students, but it's still fun to write it. :) Reilly's been doing really well, and feeling better, and we're hoping to enjoy our weekend. :)
