Goings-Ons

We have been pretty busy around here. Not accomplishing much worth mentioning (except in Jeremy's case - he finished Boards, lived through it, and in about 5 weeks will know how he did. Seriously? With the the way technology is, they should be a little bit faster than that...) but still staying busy every day. Reilly and Jaina play together really well about half the time, and still fight the other half. They are both getting so big, and constantly surprising us with how much they understand, and how they can make themselves understood. (when Jaina feels like talking - half of the time she prefers to point and make a noise and have us read her mind)...

We've enjoyed having Daddy home a little more. The kids even got to do a puzzle with him the other day. Definitely exciting! (And I was excited they didn't make me do it, too)

Reilly is really into the computer lately. He's always trying to kick me off mine during Jaina's nap time (the only time he gets to play). He loves to play the games on SesameStreet.org, his Lego Preschool game, and one of my old Dogz games. Here is a pic of one day I really didn't want to share, so I set him up with our laptop at the kitchen table:

We have been SO happy to have some nice days lately, and the kids absolutely love being outside.  These are taken one evening last week, when we went BACK outside after dinner. The just ran up and down the driveway and along the sidewalk, over and over again!

Yes, she's cute, but I'm not sure what to do with her most of the time. She is so full of it! She loves tormenting her brother just a little too much, then turns around and does this amazingly fake cry and pouts forever when she doesn't get what SHE wants... it's a good thing she's so adorable when she's NOT being a little punk...

He puts up with an awful lot some days... He's a pretty good kid most of the time, though!

Boards...

Our favorite Daddy and Husband is taking his Part II National Chiropractic Boards all day today and tomorrow morning. He is extremely nervous (and so are we!). Any extra thoughts and prayers are appreciated!

So I had a really hard time deciding what my "first" picture folder was, since they're all nested a hundred times and mostly arranged chronologically... but I finally decided the folder that we keep all of our "real" pictures in counted, and rather than going into another folder, picked the 10th photo (there's just a bunch of random stuff not folder-ized in there)...

This is my family's cabin on Mt. Graham, in Arizona. It is the second "version," since we tore down the old one (that my grandpa built, out of logs - some of which you can see being porch posts) in like 1994 and built this one. There have been very few summers of my life that I haven't made it up to Mt. Graham and spent time at the cabin, especially on the 4th of July and Labor Day. I won't be seeing it THIS summer. :(

Washington, D.C.

Jeremy got to go to D.C. again this year with the Student International Chiropractic Association (SICA - he is the secretary, I believe) and he had a great time, again. It was a little colder this time around, but they still managed to stay busy with the National Chiropractic Legislative Conference, sight-seeing, and keeping warm. He was actually gone for an entire week: the first 3-4 days were the conference, then he and a friend stayed an extra 3 days. They met up with Jeremy's MTC companion (who was actually one of the witnesses at our sealing, as well) and spent time with him and his family in Suffolk and Charlottesville, VA. The visited a NUCCA doctor's office in Virginia as well, then spent their last day sight-seeing in D.C. before they came home the next morning. He had a great trip and I think, loves Washington, D.C. more than ever...
By the way, there was no way I could pick the "best" pictures from the 500+ he took to blog, so I just picked a few I liked... He is studying for boards and doesn't have time for such things, or I would make HIM pick the pictures. :)

We mostly did fine while he was gone. Hung out, didn't make any big meals, did a lot of projects...

The last few days were a little rough. Jaina, was, I think, sick AND working on molars at the same time. She woke up one morning with a bad cough and a 103º fever. :( She felt terrible for several days. As she was starting to feel better, Reilly got the cough (but no fever) and it's only in the last few days that he's stopped waking up panicky at night coughing his little head off. :( They are both doing well now, though, and we're glad "Daddy" got to go to D.C. for a change after this crazy trimester and before he had to study like crazy for his Boards next weekend...

Poor sick little girl... and you can see Reilly's eyes kind of swollen and sickly in his pictures, too!

All in a Satur-Day's Work

I can't believe these pictures were taken 2 1/2 weeks ago. It seems like I blog all the time, yet I'm always several weeks behind. :)
Saturday the 19th we had a little going-away-graduation get-together for our dear friend, Julie. They are all moved to Colorado now, and I can't believe they're gone! We will definitely miss Julie, and her whole family here in Davenport! :( Robyn's so great about making sure these graduations happen. I can't believe this was the 7th or 8th one in a row I've attended. It seems so strange that we're starting 8th tri, and some of the "oldest" people here at Palmer...

When I got home from the "Palmer Wives Graduation" I was happy to see my (recovering-from-being-sick) wonderful husband outside with our kids in the snow, and a huge snowman in our back yard. These kiddos have been begging to build a snowman for weeks, but most of the snow we've been getting has been pretty dry, and it's been so cold outside we haven't gone out much. This snow was perfect, and Jeremy, along with our neighbor, Chad's, help built this amazingly large snowman for our cute toddlers. (Sadly, his head was too big, and had fallen off by the next morning...)

They did some sledding after I got there, but Jaina was done with the cold and wet, and we were all happy to go inside. It's so strange to even see our backyard like this - as of yesterday, there are only a few piles of snow left. (several of them are the remains of said snowman...) I don't want to say anything, for fear of jinxing it, but I think spring really is right around the corner! (finally)
