Here at Home

It's weird to have two different places be home. We definitely have a home in Davenport, but the Gila Valley (Thatcher/Pima) is definitely the home we're most familiar with, and the one that I, at least, miss a lot. I don't realize how much, sometimes, until we're here. Even with the 100+ temperatures, I miss being home all the time and having all of our family around. Reilly is having a blast here; he just plays all day, and has so many people to love him and take care of him. He's still very attached to Jeremy, but pays almost no attention to me. At least Jaina still loves me. ;-)

My little brother's wedding went off without a hitch, at least as far as I know. :) They got married Friday morning in the Mesa temple, then we had a reception that night in Pinetop, and an "open house" (basically another reception) in Pima the next night. It was a very busy 3 days, and the kids had to sleep 4 different places in 4 nights. Jaina did pretty well, but poor Reilly was having huge going-to-sleep issues... We have been staying at my parents' house since Sunday night, and he's doing better having a set bed and set schedule. We'll be moving to Jeremy's parents' house for most of next week, and then probably spend one night next week on Mt. Graham. Definitely looking forward to being up there, but NOT looking forward to trying to sleep that night. I hope we don't disturb anyone else too much in the process...

Doing pretty well, and enjoying ourselves a lot. We've been mostly relaxing the last several days - hopefully we can do some fun things too. Now that we've recovered from all the traveling/wedding stuff, that is. Phil & Sophie are spending their honeymoon mostly in San Diego, and my little brother David (18) is at FBLA Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia, so it's a little quiet around here. We've been hanging out with Emily (19) and Spencer, (10) as well as my parents, most of the time. I think that's about it for now! Pictures to follow...

What happened to our break?

Jeremy's finals went really well, and he did well in all his classes this tri. Yay! He worked so hard! So, we were supposed to have this week in between finals getting over and going to Arizona where we could kind of relax, do a few fun things, and get caught up on house organization. Yeah, not happening. Our house is a little more organized (our poor little basement needed help), but that's mostly due to Jeremy working like a crazy man and me trying to help here and there. Almost all of our neighbors graduated and moved out, and Jeremy spent most of several days helping out with that.
Also, Jaina still hasn't been sleeping well, so we haven't gotten to try our whole "kids in the same room" thing yet. And Reilly's either got teething sypmtoms, or he's sick. He had a low-grade fever all day yesterday and felt awful. He feels better today, but has a tiny little pinpricky rash all over his feet, arms, hands, legs, and diaper area. Moms, does this sound familiar?? So I hope it's just teething. I'm pretty sure he's trying to cut his eye teeth and that they're hurting like crazy. Today after he woke up crying from a short nap, he gave me all three pacifiers. He didn't want them. The only reason this would happen is if it's hurting him to suck on a pacifier. Sigh. I hope he's feeling completely better by the time we fly out Thursday. In the meantime, it seems like every minute of every day is scheduled for the next several days. Not so fun, but hopefully we'll get it all done and be able to enjoy it along the way.
One bright spot is that Jaina only woke up (momentarily) 3 times last night instead of every 30-60 minutes all night long (which is what she's been doing for the last week). Also, Reilly was able to sleep almost all night as well, even though he's sick/not feeling well. Heavenly Father sure knows when to bless us right when we really need it!

Down to the wire

With this trimester, that is. It feels like Jeremy's been taking finals for 3 weeks, with all the tests he's had, and how much he's been gone studying for them... But now he only has two left: one tomorrow, and one Wednesday. It will be so nice to just be our little family at home for a week before we travel out to Arizona for my brother's wedding! And since Jaina's been sleeping through the night (more or less) since her last adjustment, and because we want our bedroom back, we're going to try to put them in the same room this weekend... dum dum dum. (scary music). No, actually, we have high hopes. And if it works, our vacation will be a little simpler!

Reilly is getting taller, and can now reach even more things on the counters. I still forget he can reach up there, and sometimes he scares me with the things he brings to me! He loves to "help" with the dishwasher, and with the laundry. He'll sometimes take a whole pile of (dirty) clothes and load them all into the dryer for me. He doesn't understand why I don't get quite as excited as when he puts a clean load from the dryer to the basket...

Jaina will hit 6 months this Thursday, which I can hardly believe. It seems like it took so much longer for Reilly to get to the same point! She is such a sweetheart, and we can't wait for her to start moving around better. I need to give her more floor time... She is working on the sitting up thing, and starting to get better at it.

By the way, for everyone that keeps wanting to know how the cloth diapering is going, or for those of you that are interested in it, there is a link on the side to a little blog I put together about it. :)
