Shawn has been especially difficult sleep-wise lately. Last week he was really sick. Like as sick as he's been. We went to Urgent Care at one point to get his breathing checked out and do his first nebulizer treatment (which he screamed through, of course) and I was really worried about him that next day as well. And then he got better and started working on more teeth. I know he's got a 4th molar that needs to come through, and I suspect he's starting to work on his eye teeth. I really hate teething. He went from just using a watered-down bottle at bedtime (coconut milk, too, so no sugar) to needing one every time he goes to sleep over the last few weeks. So we get to deal with breaking that habit (again) soon, too.
But anyways, he wouldn't settle down until almost 9 last night (and his bedtime is 7) and then he was up at 4:30, and felt like he should be done sleeping. I finally got him back to sleep, but by then I was wide awake. I tried for a while to get back to sleep, but thoughts of finding a dentist, and what I was going to eat for breakfast and lunch, (trying super hard to be healthy and lose weight) and when we could find time to go into the kids' classes and help in the next few weeks, and what our spring break plans were, and wanting to update this blog, and wanting to catch up on videos, and... You get the idea. But when my thoughts finally jumped to my just-swept-last-night kitchen floor that REALLY needed to be mopped, and to the lack of small feet up and about at 5:20 AM, I knew my sleep was done for. So maybe I'll try to nap when he does later.
I recommend mopping with nearly no light (Reilly has been sleeping in the living room lately, so as not to be woken by non-sleeping Shawn). It was a very satisfying and freeing experience to not be able to see the floor well as I went over it. I scrubbed harder on what I knew were problem spots, but couldn't see all the stuff that wouldn't come up, and could only see my glistening progress. :) I think I'll try to do it this way more often in the future...
(Oh, and Reilly did wake up during the mopping. Apparently I wasn't quite as quiet as I hoped.)
