Memorial Day

Jeremy had Monday off, thankfully, so we were able to enjoy a nice Memorial Day as a family. That morning we went to a bi-ward picnic at Scott County Park. (think a REALLY big park, with many campgrounds, playgrounds, etc...) We somehow didn't take any pictures. The food was good, as was the company, and the kids wore themselves out. There is a pool there that looks really neat; we're excited to go back and try it out on a hot afternoon.
Later, after the munchkins woke up, things were a little crazy and we decided to get out again. Jeremy surprised us by driving us 40 minutes away to the birthplace/museum of President Herbert Hoover (just outside Iowa City). It was very interesting, though our kids were total spazzes and did NOT do well in a museum setting. I guess we shouldn't be surprised... Hmm. We didn't get a picture of the actual museum, and photography was discouraged inside, but here is the little cottage President Hoover was born in.
Jaina and Reilly were so happy to be free of our arms and of the stroller when we got outside!
Can you see the attitude we were dealing with in the museum in his face here?
It was a little cold and breezy, and almost rainy, but we still walked all over the grounds. They were really beautiful!
This is how Reilly looked any time we didn't allow him to do something he wanted to...

Daddy got creative towards the end with our single stroller...

That's cool you guys went out and checked some fun history out. I couldn't imagine living in a small house like that! We are so spoiled now a days!

What a nice Memorial Day! It's a good thing they make strollers strong-we had to do the same thing.
